Veterinary College, UPEI on Sunday, March 26, 2017.

*AVMA/AVMF Scholarship for Veterans*

On June 3, 2016 the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps celebrated the centennial of
President Woodrow Wilson's signing of the National Defense Act of 1916, an
act that strengthened the nation's military in part through the creation of
a Veterinary Corp within the U.S. Army.

In honor of the 100th anniversary, the AVMA and AVMF established a special
scholarship for military veterans pursuing an education in veterinary
medicine. $1000 scholarships will be awarded to veterans of the U.S. Air
Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy currently in their 1st, 2nd or
3rd year of veterinary school.

*Eligibility Criteria*

·        1st, 2nd or 3rd year veterinary student in good standing at an
AVMA accredited school (all U.S. and internationally accredited schools)

·        Member of SAVMA (if school has SAVMA chapter)

·        Veteran of the U.S. military (U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard,
Marines or Navy)

·        Involvement in university affiliated organizations including
leadership responsibilities

·        Honorably discharged

·        US Citizen

·        Apply at AVMF.org

UPEI Blood Drive is next week!  Thursday March 16th.  Please share with
your friends & colleagues.  Appointments can be made by setting up a
profile on www.blood.ca or downloading the “giveblood” app.  Walk ins will
be accepted.  If you have eligibility questions, please call us at 1 888
2DONATE (1-888-236-6283 <(888)%20236-6283>).  Must be at least 17 years of
age, and *Identification is required*.  It is highly recommended that you
be well hydrated from water &/or juice. And have eaten a good meal prior.

AVC ART SHOW ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15


AVC’s Class of 2019 invites you to the 4th Annual AVC Art Show, Wednesday,
March 15, in The McCain Foundation Learning Commons, from 9:30 am to 5 pm.


The show will feature the artistic talents of our students, faculty, and
staff and will include a silent auction.  The silent auction will close at 4
pm, and bid winners can pick up their items before 5 pm.  Payment is by
cash, cheque, or e-transfer.


Prepare to be amazed!
